North Carolina High Country

We are located in the beautiful North Carolina High Country, at the base of Sugar Mountain in Banner Elk, North Carolina.

Banner Elk is a vacation destination in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and only approximately 15 miles from Boone, NC, home of Appalachian State University, and Blowing Rock, NC.
Gem miners join us from Asheville, NC all the time – the Sugar Creek Gem Mine is located an hour and a half from Asheville, NC.

Mountain Driving Tips

Note: Leave yourself plenty of time when you are driving in the North Carolina mountains. The scenery is awesome and the roads are usually two lane roads so you won’t be doing high speed highway driving!
